DeLauro Opposes 41st GOP Attempt to Undermine the Affordable Care Act

Tells Them to Just Get Over It

WASHINGTON, DC—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) released the following statement today on the 41st vote to undermine the Affordable Care Act. The bill before the House of Representatives today, H.R. 2775, would prevent millions of Americans from getting the tax credits they need to buy insurance on the health care marketplaces.

“Republicans keep trying to repeal, defund and derail the landmark Affordable Care Act, when they really need to just get over it. The legislation before the House of Representatives today is nothing more than a delay tactic just 20 days before Americans start shopping for insurance on the marketplaces.

“There are already robust procedures in place to ensure the tax credits are going only to those who are eligible. Supporters of this bill know that, but are still continuing to grasp for ways to delay the rest of the Affordable Care Act from going into effect. That is just wrong.

“Instead of focusing on jobs and economic growth, Republicans in the House of Representatives have continued their political games that would make it harder for American families to access quality, affordable health care. The American people deserve better.”
