NEW HAVEN, CT— Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) today urged communities across Connecticut to support holiday toy drive in their cities and towns. Today she made a donation to the Milford Fire Department’s annual holiday toy drive and toured one of their drop-off locations. DeLauro was joined by Lieutenant Jason Hall, one of the toy drive’s co-chairs.
DeLauro expressed her support for this program, saying “Each year, I am so impressed by the good works being done in our communities—from the Fire Department, to the neighborhood businesses, to the individual citizens who donate gifts and their time. Need knows no season, and the families and children helped by toy drive have had a particularly rough year. I urge everyone to remember those families who need help, and to help make Christmas a little merrier for everyone this year.”
Each of the Milford firehouses have served as a drop-off location for new, unwrapped toys and books since mid-November, and will continue to do so through Christmas Eve. Gifts will be distributed to invited city residents Saturday, December 21 at the Margaret Egan Center on Matthew Street. The program assists more than 300 city families annually.
