WASHINGTON - Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (Conn.-3) today announced the following grants from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for Connecticut’s Third Congressional District.

“This funding provides important resources to address our housing needs in Connecticut,” said DeLauro. “The rising costs of housing has displaced many individuals and has strained those living on a fixed income. This funding encourages new homeowners and provides increased housing opportunities for seniors.”

Funding levels and a brief program description follow.

$2,613,300 St. Luke’s Development Corporation, New Haven, CT

Funding was granted through Supportive Housing for the Elderly, a program that provides supportive housing for low-come seniors.

$2,572,090 Wesley Heights, Inc., Shelton, CT

Funding was granted through the Assisted Living Conversion Program. The funding is awarded to private nonprofit owners of an eligible multifamily housing development so the owners may convert some or all of the units in the housing to assisted living facilities for the elderly.
