NEW HAVEN - In response to news that a rocket attacked a U.S. military base in northern Iraq today, killing at least 22 people and wounding 57 Americans and Iraqis, Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (Conn.-3) today released the following statement.

“Today's cowardly attack on American soldiers in Mosul is a tragic reminder that our soldiers, sailors and Marines are still very much in harm's way. My prayers and my thoughts are with both the families and loved ones of those who were killed or injured today and all of the more than 175,000 Americans serving in Iraq and Afghanistan this holiday season. I am also grateful to every service member for their professionalism and their patriotism, which I know will sustain them during this difficult time.”
