DeLauro Celebrates West Haven Commuter Rail Station Ribbon-Cutting

NEW HAVEN, CT—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) released the following statement today celebrating the opening of the new West Haven Commuter Rail Station. This new station has been a goal of the City of West Haven since 2001, and will provide parking, commercial and residential use for the surrounding area.

"Today's opening meets a real need in our community. Some 80 percent of Connecticut commuters drive to work by themselves, putting a real strain on our roadways. We have been working for over 10 years to provide a safer, more efficient alternative and with this ribbon-cutting we are finally there. I am proud to have supported this project and thank everyone whose commitment made it a reality."
