DeLauro Statement on FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb Resignation
March 5, 2019
WASHINGTON, DC (March 5, 2019) — Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) today released the following statement on the resignation of United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Scott Gottlieb, M.D.
"I have appreciated Dr. Gottlieb's work as FDA Commissioner over the past two years. He undertook many important initiatives that advanced public health. We did not see eye-to-eye on every issue, but his leadership guiding FDA's work on food recall transparency, implementing menu labeling, and addressing the youth vaping epidemic is commendable. He made a positive impact on people's lives through his work, and I hope those initiatives continue at FDA moving forward."
