DeLauro Statement on Second Anniversary of Sandy Hook Shootings

December 12, 2014

WASHINGTON, DC—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) released the following statement today on the second anniversary of the Sandy Hook shootings. The anniversary is Sunday, December 14.

“Two years ago the inexplicable happened when 20 little angels and their six brave educators were gunned down in cold blood. It is hard to believe that it has been almost two years since Newtown was forever changed. The lack of congressional action is shameful, and I will keep fighting until we make badly needed changes, but this anniversary is a time to focus on the families.

“My heart goes out to all the family members who lost loved ones that tragic day. They are an inspiration as they continue the battle for sensible gun laws in the face of their overwhelming grief. Nobody should have to endure what they have been through.”
