DeLauro Statement on the Supreme Court’s Decision on Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt

WASHINGTON, DC (June 27, 2016) — Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) today released the following statement regarding the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision on Whole Woman's Health v. Hellerstedt.

“The Supreme Court’s decision in Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt is a win for women in Texas and across the country. Limiting a woman’s access to health services is wrong. We must do more to ensure that women have access to all the health services they need and I will continue to fight for access to family planning services across the country.

“While the nation’s highest court affirmed that Texas’s restrictions went too far, health care providers remain under attack by Republicans in Congress. House Republicans should immediately disband their Select Investigative Panel on Planned Parenthood and end their sham of an investigation. If Republicans are truly concerned with breaking the law, they should investigate state officials in Texas for suppressing key statistical data related to abortion services.”
