DeLauro Statement on U.S. Presidential Election

Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) released a statement in response to the results of the U.S. presidential election:

“I thank Vice President Harris and Governor Tim Walz for the extraordinary campaign they ran. The American people have spoken, and I respect their decision. President-elect Trump won the trust of many of my constituents and I will help him succeed where possible. We worked together on trade issues. With the incoming administration, I am committed to finding common ground, including enacting an expanded, monthly Child Tax Credit and bipartisan government funding bills. On issues we disagree, like Project 2025, plans on federal health programs, education, and women’s health, I will oppose him. I will continue to advocate for the middle-class, working people, and the vulnerable. 

“Many votes are still being counted and there remains a chance Democrats will reclaim the House. Every vote must be counted.”
