Community Project Funding - FY2025
Listed below is a summary of the 15 projects Congresswoman DeLauro submitted to the House Appropriations Committee for FY 2025, along with each project's recipient, requested amount, and required financial disclosure letter. The projects are listed in alphabetical order by recipient location.

Ansonia/Seymour – Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments - $5,578,000
- The Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments requests $5.578 million to undertake construction to enable the relocation and reconstruction of sewer siphons that will be impacted due to the removal of Kinneytown Dam. This will help in the overall efforts to improve water quality and restoration efforts.

Ansonia/Seymour – Connecticut Brownfield Land Bank - $5,000,000
- The Connecticut Brownfield Land Bank requests $5 million to undertake construction associated with restoration of the Naugatuck River, including managing water sediment, associated with the removal of Kinneytown Dam. This will help in the overall efforts to improve water quality and restoration efforts.

Bethany – Town of Bethany - $430,945
- The Town of Bethany requests $430,945 to enhance safety along Round Hill Road by undertaking construction to widen the road and reduce the steepness of the hill. This will improve safety by protecting the lives and well-being of residents and commuters.

Hamden – Town of Hamden - $3,000,000
- The Town of Hamden requests $3 million to partially fund construction of a new Emergency Operations Center. This will reduce response times and improve the effectiveness of emergency management, improve safety, enhance community resilience, and promote cooperation amongst first responders.

New Haven – Southern Connecticut State University - The Hive - $9,515,000
- Southern Connecticut State University requests $9.515 million to transform a currently vacant 25,000 square foot building into a centrally located high-tech community and workforce development hub to simultaneously address diversifying Connecticut’s workforce, creating highly accessible and flexible pathways for minorities and underserved groups to improve and advance their careers and communities.

New Haven – Havenly - $148,000
- Havenly requests $148,000 to pilot a model of intensive support for at-risk women, combining one-on-one case management services with job training to ensure the independence and safety of victims of domestic violence in the community. This will help improve the effectiveness of providing services to victims of crime, including case management, job training and skills development, and other activities consistent with the Byrne JAG program.

New Haven – University of New Haven - $1,500,000
- The University of New Haven requests $1.5 million to deliver de-escalation training to law enforcement agencies in Connecticut. Specifically, the training provided in person by the University of New Haven (UNH) teaches law enforcement officers techniques that can help resolve potentially dangerous confrontations. The project will assist state and local law enforcement efforts by providing officers with evidence-based training to enforce laws, address violent crime, and improve the criminal justice system while at the same time reducing the unnecessary use of force.

New Haven – New Haven Police Department - $749,000
- The New Haven Police Department requests $749,000 to purchase various equipment for law enforcement activities. This will invest in essential tools and resources for local police, and thus enhance public safety, improve law enforcement capabilities, and better serve the residents of the community.

New Haven – New Haven Housing Authority – Westville Manor - $3,000,000
- The New Haven Housing Authority requests $3 million to redevelop Westville Manor together with new roads, walkways, sidewalks, curbs, parking lots, lighting, landscaping and plantings, utilities, and other related infrastructure improvements, all directly associated with the project.

Naugatuck – Borough of Naugatuck Connectivity & Transit Oriented Development Project - Phase II Pedestrian Bridge - $2,500,000
- The Borough of Naugatuck requests $2.5 million to improve multimodal forms of transportation for residents in the downtown area of the Borough, while leveraging and complementing tens of millions of State of Connecticut and Federal dollars.

Stratford – Stratford Housing Authority – Lucas Gardens- $150,000
- The Stratford Housing Authority requests $150,000 to help install security cameras at the town’s senior/disabled development complex to reduce crime at the complex.

West Haven – City of West Haven - $1,100,000
- The Town is requesting funding to expand their Emergency Operation Center capabilities and help improve security in the school system. If implemented, City residents will benefit from a modernized and effective EOC that can quickly respond and communicate during critical situations. This will reduce response times and improve the effectiveness of emergency management, improve safety, enhance community resilience, and promote cooperation amongst first responders.

Woodbridge - Town of Woodbridge - $1,350,000
- The Town is requesting $1,350,000 for the federal share of costs for the complete update and renovation of our emergency operations center and related spaces located in our police department. The upgraded Emergency Operations Center in Woodbridge will perform several critical functions to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated response to emergencies.

Woodmont – Stormwater outlet structure - $750,000
- The Borough of Woodmont requests $750,000 to assist with the repair of the Belmont Street drainage groin to prevent further deterioration that in turn will lead to the erosion of an active Army Corp of Engineers erosion control berm and FEMA category G beach that are intended to prevent the inundation of Beach Avenue and endanger private and public property along Beach Ave.
