DeLauro Announces $1,579,872 Grant for Tweed- New Haven Airport

Washington, DC –Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (CT-3) announced today that the Tweed- New Haven Airport has been awarded a $1,579,872 grant through the Department of Transportation to rehabilitate one of its deteriorating runways.

"Tweed-New Haven Airport is one of the top regional airports in the country, and this grant, combined with other aid already received from state and federal sources, will help it to remain so. A rehabilitated runway will enable increased access to the greater New Haven area and provide much-needed economic opportunities to the local economy," said Congresswoman DeLauro. "This grant will enable the Tweed-New Haven Airport to continue to its long tradition and important role in the Southern Connecticut economy, and I look forward to seeing the results."
