DeLauro Announces $221,150 Grant for Ansonia
Washington, DC – Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (CT-3) announced today that the Housing Authority of Ansonia will receive $221,150 in funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
This grant, which is part of $7.7 million being distributed to states across the country, is to be used in addressing threats to the health and safety of residents of their public housing, including emergency needs and fighting crime and drug related activities. The funds can be used to install security cameras, fencing, lighting systems, alarms, and strengthening windows and doors.
"Protecting the families that reside in public housing is critical to the success of such projects. These funds will enable the Housing Authority of Ansonia to take the safety and security measures needed to help keep these families safe," said Congresswoman DeLauro. "I am very pleased that Ansonia has been awarded these funds, and I know that they will help to improve our communities."
