DeLauro Announces More Than $26 Million for Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation

Cumulative Total of this Contract is More Than $5.1 Billion

Work will be Performed in Stratford, Keeping Jobs in Connecticut

STRATFORD, CT – House Appropriations Committee Chair Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) today announced Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation in Stratford, Connecticut, has been awarded an additional $26,009,929 through the Department of the Army for production, engineering, and service of the Black Hawk.

"Black Hawk helicopters play a critical role in helping the men and women of our armed services carry out their duties safely," said Congresswoman DeLauro. "This versatile and vital aircraft is the core of Army Aviation and we must continue to support it. I am thrilled that Lockheed Sikorsky, in our own backyard, has secured this additional funding. In my new role as Chair of the House Appropriations Committee, I will continue to fight to create jobs in Connecticut's Third Congressional District, home of the world's best helicopters, and invest in our local economy."

This is a modification to an existing contract bringing the cumulative total of this contract to $5,157,081,475. The work from this contact will be performed in Stratford, Connecticut.
