$52 million procurement contract to support VH-92A program

WASHINGTON, DC— Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) today announced that the United States Navy has awarded a $52,761,020 to Sikorsky Aircraft Corp for the procurement of additional equipment and parts to support the production of the VH-92A helicopter, otherwise known as Marine One.

"Sikorsky has been home to the finest helicopters in the world since opening its doors over a century ago — all proudly made here in Connecticut," said Congresswoman DeLauro. "This new contract will enhance the work already being done through the VH-92A program, solidifying good-paying jobs both at Sikorsky and throughout its supply chain."

"It is contracts such as this that keep our shops full and give us the ability to continue to hire Teamsters into good-paying jobs with health benefits and retirement security," said Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 1150 Rocco Calo.

"Sikorsky along with its suppliers are the lynchpins of our state's advanced manufacturing base," DeLauro continued. "Generations of Connecticut workers have been the strength of Sikorsky, the backbone of its supply chain, and that is why I continue to fight for the funding that supports these programs and the jobs they create."
