DeLauro Applauds Guidance on Coronavirus Relief to Connecticut’s State and Local Governments

Connecticut's State and Local Governments and Municipalities to Receive More Than $4.3 Billion Allocated in the American Rescue Plan

WASHINGTON – House Appropriations Committee Chair Rosa DeLauro (D-CT-03) issued the following statement after the Biden Administration announced guidance on the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds, established by Democrats' American Rescue Plan Act:

"The U.S. Department of the Treasury took a critical step toward helping Connecticut recover from the pandemic and build back better. By launching the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds, Connecticut can expect to see an infusion of resources to address economic fallout and turn the corner on COVID-19.

"This funding, which Democrats included in the American Rescue Plan, will help our state and local governments and municipalities keep first responders, front line health workers, and other providers of vital services on the job. This funding will also help prevent Connecticut's state, local, and municipal governments from relying on tax increases to stay afloat. The more than $4.3 billion provided to Connecticut is long overdue and is necessary for Connecticut's recovery.

"This is not the end of the relief families can expect to see. I look forward to continuing to work for strong investments in Connecticut's infrastructure that create jobs and provide vital assistance to our hardest hit industries."
