DeLauro Applauds Release of High Speed Rail Funds

New Haven, CT— Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) released the following statement in response to today's announcement that the U.S. Department of Transportation released to the State of Connecticut $40 million in funds allocated under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield line.

"I am pleased to see these federal funds released to the state as they are critical to allowing Connecticut to proceed with upgrading of the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield line. Development of high-speed rail in our state will create jobs, spur economic growth and improve our way-of-life, and I will continue to work with my colleagues in the congressional delegation, as well as the Governor, to fight for these important federal investments in our state's future."
