DeLauro Calls for DOL Secretary Acosta’s Resignation
July 9, 2019
WASHINGTON, DC (July 9, 2019) – Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) today released the following statement calling for the Secretary of the Department of Labor (DOL) Alex Acosta to resign.
"Secretary Acosta needs to resign. The Department of Labor plays a critical role in protecting victims of sex trafficking at home and abroad and helping with the enforcement of our nation's trafficking laws, yet Acosta helped Jeffrey Epstein from being prosecuted for child trafficking and sexually abusing underage girls. That is reprehensible. He cannot continue working in such an important position in our federal government."
