DeLauro Condemns Secretary DeVos’ Action Rescinding Guidelines for Students with Disabilities

WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) released the following statement in response to Secretary DeVos rescinding guidelines for students with disabilities.

"Secretary DeVos' decision to rescind Department of Education guidance pertaining to students with disabilities is irresponsible. This is not ‘regulatory reform' or ‘cutting red tape' as the President Trump and his administration would like us to believe—this is removing plain-language documents that have been developed to help parents, caregivers, and educators understand the services available to students with disabilities."

"This latest action is part of a larger pattern by the Trump administration, which has been dismantling decades of laws that protect all Americans. The Trump administration is causing lasting damage to the rule of law and our democratic institutions, and it has to stop."
