DeLauro on Earthquake in Haiti

January 13, 2010

Washington, DC— Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) today released the following statement on the earthquake that struck Haiti:

"I am very saddened by the news of the tragic earthquake in Haiti—my thoughts and prayers go out to those who have lost their lives, those living with the aftermath, and to those with loved ones there. There are many people in Connecticut with ties to Haiti, and I urge them to contact my office if they are in need of assistance in looking for family and friends there.

"The people of Haiti will need help in the coming days and months as they struggle with such devastation and grief. I applaud President Obama's pledge of a swift and coordinated response. I look forward to supporting this effort in whatever ways I can."

For those seeking assistance, please call Congresswoman DeLauro's District Office at (203) 562-3718.
