DeLauro Highlights Transportation Funding for Hamden

$2.85 Million Grant Will Fund New Bus Maintenance Facility

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (D-CT) today heralded the announcement by the Department of Transportation's Federal Transit Administration that $2.85 million has been made available to the state of Connecticut for construction of a new bus maintenance facility in Hamden, CT. The facility and garage will serve the New Haven Division of CT Transit, and replaces a current obsolete garage. The new facility will be able to accommodate a fleet of 150 buses and 20 support vehicles.

"Hamden lies within the most-traveled commuter corridor in the country," observed Congresswoman DeLauro. "This forward-thinking grant will help CTTransit continue to meet the growing transportation needs of Connecticut residents and facilitate growth and enterprise in our region."
