DeLauro on Northrop Grumman Dropping Out of Tanker Bid

March 8, 2010

Washington, DC- Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) released the following statement in response to Northrop Grumman's announcement that they will not submit a bid to build aerial refueling tankers for the Air Force:

"Awarding the tanker contact to Northrop Grumman/ EADS would have meant outsourcing jobs and technology critical to our national security, while awarding the contract to Boeing will mean high skilled, good jobs in Connecticut and throughout our country. As the procurement process moves forward without Northrop Grumman, I will continue to advocate on behalf of American jobs, national security, and maintaining a strong industrial base here in America with the aim of seeing the Air Force procure the best tanker at the best price for the taxpayers."
