DeLauro Opposes 40th Attempt to Repeal or Undermine Health Protections
Legislation Would Put Insurance Companies, NotConsumers, Back In Charge
WASHINGTON, DC—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) todayopposed the 40th attempt to repeal or undermine the landmark healthprotections established by the Affordable Care Act. Legislation before theHouse of Representatives would end the ability of people nationwide to receivetax credits to pay for coverage. DeLauro is a longtime advocate for affordable, comprehensive, quality health care.
"This legislation would cripple the ability of Americansnationwide to pay for health care, undermining the health and economic securityof the middle class. A vote for this bill is a vote to put insurance companiesback in charge of Americans' health. I wish my colleagues would spend as muchtime working on growing the middle class as they do holding pointless votes andposturing. Enough is enough. Let us stop the political games and act now to putpeople back to work.
