DELAURO ON PAYROLL TAX AGREEMENT
Washington, DC – Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (CT-3), Ranking Member on the Labor, Health, and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee, released the following statement today after the passage by unanimous consent of the agreement on the payroll tax extension, unemployment benefits and the Medicare physician fee fix:
"This is a victory for the hard-working middle class. I am very glad that an agreement was reached, which will ensure that 160 million American workers, including 2 million people in Connecticut, will not lose their payroll tax cut on January 1. Simply extending current payroll tax cuts and unemployment benefits, as well as ensuring that seniors are able to continuing seeing their doctors, are issues we should all be able to agree on. I look forward to continuing to work with my colleagues to reach a longer term agreement."
