DeLauro on Race to the Top Funding

Washington, DC— Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) released the following statement today in response to the Race to the Top funding finalists announced today:

"Although I am disappointed that Connecticut was not chosen as one of the 16 finalists in Phase 1 of the "Race to the Top," education funding, I am hopeful that we will be included in the next round. And am proud of the hard work our teachers and schools put into this process. I will do everything I can to make sure that their efforts, as well as the needs of our children, are recognized in Phase 2, when our state, as well as others who were overlooked, will have the opportunity to strengthen our applications and strive to be the best in a very competitive process."
