DeLauro Reaction to Marlin Plant Announcement
Washington, DC—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) released the following statement today in response to the Marlin plant in North Haven notifying their employees of their intent to close the facility in 15 months. Marlin, which is owned by Remington Firearms, has been at its current location since 1870.
"I was very saddened to learn of Remington Firearm's intention to close the Marlin plant in North Haven. With 265 employees, this business is a large part of the North Haven, and its loss will have a palpable effect on the community and on the families impacted by job loss. I have spoken with North Haven First selectman Mike Freda, who has met with representatives from the plant, and offered my full support. I will continue to work with all parties involved to try and reach a satisfactory resolution to this unfortunate situation."
