DeLauro Response to Pratt Contract Compromise
December 5, 2010
Washington, DC— Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) released the following statement today in response to the compromise announced by Pratt & Whitney and the Machinists union.
"I am pleased that Pratt & Whitney has reached an agreement with the Machinists union that will preserve good jobs in Connecticut into the future. Unfortunately, with the Cheshire and East Hartford CARO plant closing, some jobs will be lost— but this agreement offers a compromise and averts a potential strike, which would have negatively impacted all involved. I will continue to fight to ensure that we maintain good, high-skilled jobs here in Connecticut."
