DeLauro Statement on Frozen Meat Recall

WASHINGTON, DC—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) today released the following statement on the news frozen meat products were recalled in Connecticut due to possible listeria contamination.

“News of this recall is incredibly disturbing and must be taken seriously. I am glad to hear that no illnesses have been reported; we must move swiftly to ensure all contaminated products are removed from the market. Today’s recall is further evidence of why Congress must provide more funding to fight foodborne illness and ensure that contaminated products never have a chance to make it to the dinner plate.”
