DeLauro Statement on House Passage of Civil Contempt Resolution

June 11, 2019

WASHINGTON, DC (June 11, 2019) – Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) today released the following statement after voting in favor of a House Resolution that would allow the House Judiciary Committee to enforce its subpoenas in court, as well as hold Attorney General William Barr and White House Counsel Don McGahn in civil contempt.

"Today's vote is about ensuring no one is above the law. Congress has repeatedly requested information that is critical to the foundation of our democracy, and Trump officials have done nothing but ignore those requests and delay. That is why we must continue to hold the Trump Administration accountable as they stonewall Congress's investigations into Russia's attacks on our 2016 election and the President's potential obstruction of justice."
