DELAURO STATEMENT ON NORM DICKS RETIREMENT
Washington, DC— Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3), Ranking Member on the Labor, Health, and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee, released the following statement today in response to announcement that Congressman Norm Dicks (WA-6) will not seek re-election.
"I am saddened by my friend and colleague Norm Dicks' decision to leave the Congress after serving for 36 years in this institution. Norm has always been a fighter for the American people, and nowhere is that clearer than in his role on the Appropriations Committee. His leadership on this committee was key to our ability to restore funding to numerous critical labor, health and education programs during this past year's appropriations process, and I am proud to serve with him. His dedication, wealth of wisdom and experience, and friendship will be sorely missed."
