DeLauro Statement on One-Year Anniversary of Sandy Hook Shootings
WASHINGTON, DC—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) released the following statement today on the one-year anniversary of the Sandy Hook shootings. The anniversary is tomorrow, December 14.
“One year ago the inexplicable happened when 20 little angels and their six brave educators were gunned down in cold blood. The community of Newtown is still searching for a new normal after the tragedy that forever changed their lives. There will be other times to talk about policy changes, and I will keep fighting until changes are made. But today is a day to give our love to the Sandy Hook families, who have inspired people across the country with their efforts to keep the memories of their loved ones alive. I hope the nation will honor Newtown’s wishes to observe this anniversary by engaging in acts of kindness in their own communities.”
