DeLauro Statement on Ongoing Conflict in the Middle East

Today, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) released a statement in response to the ongoing conflict: 

"Israel has the absolute right to defend itself and its citizens from threats, including Hezbollah’s aggression and Iran’s ballistic missile attacks. I am relieved Israel's defense systems successfully countered most of the missiles launched from Iran, and that the United States was able to assist our ally in this defense.

“Israel must take every necessary measure to protect its people and security. Now is the time for unity within its government to safeguard its national security interests and defend Israeli citizens. The United States stands firmly with Israel, and I will continue to work to ensure they have the resources they need to defend themselves as well as pursue peace and stability in the region.”
