DeLauro Statement on Reopening of the Federal Government

WASHINGTON, DC (January 25, 2019) – Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) today released the following statement in response to President Trump's latest remarks indicating he has agreed to reopen the federal government.

"I am pleased that federal workers will once again be paid for their hard work ensuring our national security, food safety, public lands, air travel, and so much more. These workers and their families deserve to have financial and economic security. I hope that this moment marks an end to the chaos and instability we have seen over the past 35 days, and that both parties can get back to the important work of governing our country responsibly. The President must end his use of hostage taking for his manufactured crisis at the border once and for all."
