DeLauro Statement on Retirement of Congressman Jim Moran

WASHINGTON, DC--Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), issued the following statement today on Congressman Jim Moran’s announcement that he will not seek re-election:

“Jim and I started our House careers together in 1991. Before that, we were both Senate staffers: Jim was on the Appropriations Committee and I was chief of staff to Senator Chris Dodd.

“Side by side, we have worked together and fought countless battles ever since. Jim is never afraid to speak his mind and stand up for what he thinks is right. And he has been a passionate, tireless champion for the environment, women, those struggling in our society, national security and the people of Northern Virginia.

“Thank you for your leadership and dedication, Jim, and your friendship. Congress will miss you. I wish you and your family all the best in the future.”
