DeLauro Statement on Retirement of Senator Roy Blunt

March 8, 2021

WASHINGTON – House Appropriations Committee Chair Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) released the following statement on the retirement of Senator Roy Blunt (R-MO):

"I have served with Senator Roy Blunt for decades, first as colleagues in the House and then atop our respective chambers' Labor-HHS-Education Appropriations Subcommittees.

"While we come from different parts of the country and different political parties, Senator Blunt has been a strong and trusted partner in doing the people's business. I have valued the opportunity to work with him on issues like lifesaving medical research, among many other critical matters.

"I am grateful for Roy's friendship, and wish him, Abby, and the entire Blunt family the very best as they begin this new chapter."
