DeLauro Statement on Trump Admin’s Push to Repeal Health Care Rights Law

NEW HAVEN, CT (August 6, 2019) – Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) today released the following statement on the Trump Administration's proposed rollback of the Health Care Rights Law.

"I am proud to support state lawmakers and Connecticut's Office of the Healthcare Advocate as they continue to fight to protect healthcare for all people. The Trump Administration's latest move to rip coverage from LGBTQ individuals is a particularly cruel extension of their deregulatory agenda. The Affordable Care Act banned this type of discrimination, and those protections should remain in place. Everyone deserves healthcare coverage, and targeting groups to take that coverage away based on their gender identity endangers people's lives and promotes hatred. I urge HHS Secretary Azar to reverse course."
