DeLauro Statement on Yale-New Haven/St. Raphael’s Hospital Merger

WASHINGTON, DC— Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) releasedthe following statement today on the Yale-New Haven/St. Raphael's hospitalmerger. Closing documents on the merger were signed by hospital officialsthis afternoon.

"This merger is good news for the people of New Haven andthe surrounding areas. Over $100 million will be invested in the complex,resulting in a state of the art facility providing top-notch care forpatients.

"And it ensures the future of the 105-year-old St. Raphael'sand continued access to health care for its patients. St. Raphael'snetwork of its hospital, community clinics and school-based clinics is crucialto ensuring Connecticut residents can get the health care they need.
