DeLauro Tours Flooded Areas of Naugatuck, Receives Update on Cleanup
Meets with Mayor Mezzo, Business Leaders, Homeowners Who Were Affected
NAUGATUCK, CT—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) received an update on cleanup efforts today and visited with business and home owners who suffered damage in Wednesday’s storm. DeLauro has been in touch with Mayor Mezzo, who accompanied her today, and Governor Malloy since the storm. DeLauro and Mezzo first met at Naugatuck City Hall and then toured local businesses that were flooded when nearly five inches of rain fell in about an hour.
“While it is good news the damage was not more extensive, homeowners and business leaders who suffered damage are just now beginning the long process of cleaning up,” DeLauro said. “I want to thank Mayor Mezzo for briefing me today and all the local officials who have worked so hard this week to keep people safe.”
Since Wednesday, DeLauro’s office has been assisting people who had damage to their homes or businesses and working with Mayor Mezzo and other local officials to evaluate the damage. Anyone who needs help should call her office at 203-562-3718.
