DeLauro Votes to Create Select Committee on Competition Between U.S. and China

January 10, 2023

Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) today voted in support of H. Res. 11, legislation that would create a select committee on competition between the U.S. and China.

“I have long been vocal about strengthening U.S. supply chains by protecting critical manufacturing and investments here at home,” said DeLauro. “That is why today I voted in support of legislation that would form a Select Committee to examine and provide policy recommendations on competition between the United States and China. We must strengthen U.S. supply chains and protect American manufacturing jobs. I have introduced legislation like the National Critical Capabilities Defense Act (NCCDA) to protect our supply chains from foreign adversaries like China and Russia. I hope that that House Republicans will use this committee to seriously examine this issue and work alongside Democrats to move solutions that strengthen U.S. national, economic, and health security. The committee must not be used to encourage prejudice against the Asian community.”
