DELAURO WELCOMES CONTRACEPTIVE COVERAGE UNDER AFFORDABLE CARE ACT

January 20, 2012

Washington, DC— Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3), Ranking Member on the Labor, Health, and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee, released the following statement today on the Obama Administration's decision on contraceptive coverage under the Affordable Care Act.

"I am encouraged that the Obama Administration and the Department of Health and Human Services have made the right choice concerning women's access to health care services. One of the main goals of the Affordable Care Act was to expand affordable access to care for all Americans, and that specifically includes contraception coverage. I strongly believe that women should be able to make their own health care decisions, and the new rule issued by HHS today will help to ensure women can get access to the health care services they need."
