West Haven Housing Authority Receives $117,274 Federal Grant to Address Veteran Homelessness

NEW HAVEN, CT—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) applaudedthe West Haven Housing Authority today for receiving a $117,274 federal grantto alleviate veteran homelessness. That money means 15 vouchers will beavailable to get veterans off the streets or out of shelters and into apermanent home.

"The brave men and women who serve our nation overseasdeserve our admiration, our grateful thanks, and, when needed, our assistance.When so many families are struggling to get by, this grant to the West HavenHousing Authority will help our homeless veterans find the shelter and supportthey deserve."

There are approximately 9,000 homeless veterans across thecountry. The grant announced today has been made possible by the HUD-VeteransAffairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) Program.
