The situation in Israel continues to be unpredictable. Mortar and rocket fire may take place without warning.  Individuals should follow the instructions of security and emergency response officials to increase their security awareness and remain safe.

While Ben Gurion International Airport remains open, we are aware that several major airlines have announced that they have suspended flights.  Please check with the airlines on the availability of flights and flight status.  U.S. citizens in Gaza who wish to leave and can do so safely are advised to check the status of the Rafah Crossing into Egypt.

Starting today, October 13, the U.S. government will arrange departures, either by air to Frankfurt and Athens, or by sea to Cyprus, to assist U.S. citizens and their immediate family members who have been unable to book commercial transit and seek a safe means of departing Israel.  From these locations, individuals will be able to make their own onward travel arrangements to the destination of their choice. These initial transportation options will be augmented in the coming days. Senior State Department officials are actively working with airline carriers and international partners on how best to provide additional options to U.S. citizens seeking to depart Israel or conduct onward travel to the United States. U.S. citizens in need of departure assistance should complete the crisis intake formon travel.state.gov Family members can also submit information on behalf of a U.S. citizen family member.
