DeLauro Announces More Than $507 Million for Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation

Full Funding for Program Year 5 of the Blackhawk Multi-Year IX Program

Work will be Performed in Stratford, Keeping Jobs in Connecticut

STRATFORD, CT – Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03), House Appropriations Committee Chair-designate, today announced Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation in Stratford, Connecticut, has been awarded $507,036,949 through the Department of the Army for production, engineering, and service of the Blackhawk.

"Blackhawk helicopters play a critical role in helping the men and women of our armed services carry out their duties safely," said Congresswoman DeLauro. "I am thrilled that this additional funding will continue the construction of the Blackhawk in our backyard, at Lockheed Sikorsky, home of the world's best helicopters. As I take on my new role as Chair of the full Appropriations Committee in the 117th Congress, I will continue to fight to create jobs in Connecticut's Third Congressional District and invest in our local economy."

This modification to an existing contract provides full funding of Program Year 5 of the Blackhawk Multi-Year IX Program bringing the cumulative total of this contract to $6,280,755,015. The work from this contact will be performed in Stratford, Connecticut.
