April 2, 2009

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (Conn. -3) announced nearly $1.1 million to help increase energy efficiency in two federal buildings in New Haven through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

"Making our buildings more energy efficient is a good investment that will help us emerge from this recession while setting us on the path to energy reform. With this federal funding, we will not only create new, green jobs for Connecticut residents, but we will lay the ground work for a cleaner, more cost-effective future for the city of New Haven," said DeLauro.

Specifically, the federal buildings in New Haven receiving recovery funding to increase the energy efficiency are:

The New Haven Courthouse will receive $800,000

The Robert N. Giaimo Federal Building will receive $286,000
