Funds from FAA Will Help Keep Runways Clear, Ensure Safety throughout winter

WASHINGTON, DC—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) today applauded the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)’s announcement that the Tweed-New Haven Airport Authority has been awarded a $305,084 federal grant. The grant will be used to purchase equipment to keep runways and other areas of the airport free of snow and open for service throughout the winter.

“Tweed-New Haven Airport is one of the top regional airports in the country and a great economic asset to our community. These funds will improve the airport’s quality and safety, and enable it to continue its role as a vital source of commerce for the surrounding communities. I congratulate Tweed-New Haven Airport on this award, and thank the FAA for recognizing the importance of keeping the airport running throughout the brutal New England winters.”
