DeLauro Applauds Announcement Patrick Carolan Has Been Named White House Champion of Change

NEW HAVEN, CT—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) released the following statement today applauding the announcement Patrick Carolan has been named a White House Champion of Change. Carolan is a Stratford resident who currently serves as Executive Director of the Franciscan Action Network.

“Patrick’s passion for social justice has been evident throughout the nearly 25 years I have known him. He was heavily involved in bringing together Connecticut’s environmental and labor movements, and focuses on building relationships, not just in the faith community, but also with the secular environmental community. He is an extraordinary individual making a real difference not only in Connecticut, but globally. It was an honor to nominate Patrick and I congratulate him on this well-deserved award.”

As part of the Champions of Change program, the White House recognizes every day Americans who are making positive changes in their communities. Carolan was honored as a Faith Leader for Climate at today event, which honored faith and lay leaders who are making a difference in their communities and working to protect the environment and prevent climate change.
