DeLauro Applauds New Contract for Sikorsky Aircraft Workers

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (Conn. -3) issued the following statement on the announcement that Sikorsky and the Teamsters Local Union 1150 in Stratford, CT had reached an agreement on a new contract.

"Sikorsky workers are some of the most skilled workers in the country and deserve the best compensation possible, strong health care and pension benefits and job security. I am pleased, especially in these tough economic times, that company and union officials were able to negotiate a new contract that will benefit both parties. Given the $13 billion order backlog and a continued demand for the Black Hawk Helicopter, having a new contract was critical and workers will continue to build the specialized product associated with the Sikorsky label."
