DeLauro Applauds Over $2 Million to Support Increased Access to Primary Health Care
NEW HAVEN, CT—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) today applauded the news that three Connecticut health centers have received $2,053,285 to increase access to primary health care. The grants are part of $500 million awarded to over 1,000 health centers nationally by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
The Connecticut awards are:
• $995,000 for Community Health Center, Incorporated of Middletown to build a new facility in New London
• $447,834 for Community Health Center, Inc. to expand service at its existing locations
• $327,277 for Cornell Scott Hill Health Corporation to expand service
• $283,174 for Fair Haven Community Health Clinic, Inc. to expand service
“The awards announced today will ensure Connecticut’s most vulnerable patients have greater access to high-quality health care. These three health centers have provided top-notch, affordable care to Connecticut families for decades. I congratulate them on winning these grants, which are a tribute to the hard work and dedication of all their employees.”
The funding for these grants was made available by the landmark Affordable Care Act, which DeLauro strongly supported. DeLauro is the senior Democrat on the subcommittee responsible for funding HHS.
