DeLauro Condemns Alexion’s Headquarters Leaving New Haven

September 12, 2017

NEW HAVEN, CT (September 12, 2017) Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) today released the following statement in response to Alexion's announcement that they will be moving their headquarters from New Haven to Boston.

"Alexion's decision to move their headquarters out of New Haven is shocking and shameful," said DeLauro. "New Haven is home to some of the most talented and brightest minds in the world, and Alexion will be worse off for leaving, both financially and intellectually. I understand that Alexion will be forced to pay back $27 million, plus a 5% penalty, to Connecticut taxpayers as a result of moving their headquarters."

"My office will be fully engaged with any constituents who are impacted by this short-sighted decision," continued DeLauro.
