DeLauro Joins Congressional Delegation to Italy, Ukraine
WASHINGTON, DC—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) announced today that she has joined a Congressional delegation trip to Italy and Ukraine. In both countries they will focus on security cooperation and NATO operations, and strengthened economic ties.
The delegation will meet with government officials in Rome and receive briefings in Naples at the U.S. Naval Forces Europe and Africa Headquarters and the Allied Joint Forces Command Headquarters. They will also visit the Milan Expo 2015, where they will tour the USA Pavilion, “American Food 2.0: United to Feed the Planet.” The delegation will then travel to Ukraine to meet with leaders in Kyiv to discuss key political and economic reforms and to affirm American support for the people of Ukraine.
“I am honored to be representing the United States in Italy and Ukraine, and discussing how we can strengthen our security and economic relationships,” DeLauro said. “Both countries have strong ties to Connecticut and the area I represent in particular. I look forward to hearing from government officials, local community leaders, workers with non-governmental organizations and the American officials who represent us in these countries every day.”
