Today, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) released a statement after she was ranked one of the most effective Democratic lawmakers during the 117th Congress according to a Legislative Effectiveness Score (LES) report from the Center for Effective Lawmaking.
“I am honored to be ranked among the most effective lawmakers in the 117th Congress,” said DeLauro. “As Chair of the House Appropriations Committee last Congress, I was proud to lead on legislation that lowers the cost of living for working families, creates better paying jobs, honors our promises to our veterans, and keeps our nation and communities safe. I promise to never back down in the fight for policies that improve the lives of working people in Connecticut and across the United States.”
As Chair of the House Appropriations Committee, Representative Rosa DeLauro of Connecticut was the fourth-highest scoring member of the Democratic party in the 117th Congress. She marshalled five stand-alone appropriations measures into law, including two bipartisan omnibus funding packages, a Capitol security supplemental to respond to the January 6th insurrection, and supplemental funding to support Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to defend their democracy.
